"Uncle Harry" shows everyone a good time. The pictures below were taken from our March 2000 winter campout. The camp is big enough that we were able to pair up with the father-son program.
Harry makes
his usual pitch to the "Captains of Industry" to get donations for
the camp. The Dads are persuaded to have their companies donate
good and services for little things like bridges across the
Connoquenessing River to connect Camp Kon-O-Kwee and Camp Spencer
which is for the challenged children. He also managed to get a
new first aid/office building and the lake made handicapped
accessible so everyone can go fishing. His newest project is a
complete sewage system which he needs before he can build a new
dining hall.
The girl's
project this weekend was to build a model rocket and then shoot it
into the air. On Saturday the Dads and offspring built and
painted the rockets. This truly was "rocket
science".
Saturday
night the girls in our cabin surprised us with a mini-talent
show. There was quite a bit of surprise on the Dad's faces when
they saw the potential talent in singing , dancing, gymnastics,
etc.
Saturday
afternoon and Sunday morning the count downs were on. Too bad
NASA wasn't around to see these future rocket engineers strut their
stuff. There was as much learned from the successes as the few
flops.
